Motion StudioTerms of use

Welcome to Motion Studio. These terms explain how to use the app. By using it, you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who we are
Motion Studio is published by WebXpansion, SARL, 36 avenue Commandant Dumont, 05000 Gap, France ("we"). Contact: contact@webxpansion.com.
2. What Motion Studio is
Motion Studio is a Mac app for creating and editing vertical (9:16) videos with the help of Motion IA, an AI-powered assistant. The app is free. Editing, files and exports stay on your computer.
Some features may become paid later. If so, they will be clearly presented as paid, with their own terms of sale, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.
3. Access and account
- The app works without an account. An account (sign in with Google) is only needed for the community: publishing, reporting, or having a public name.
- You must be at least 15 years old to create an account. Below that age, use of the app is under a parent's responsibility.
- You are responsible for what happens with your account. Let us know if you think someone else is using it.
- To delete your account, email us at contact@webxpansion.com (see the Privacy policy).
4. Motion IA and the services you connect
- Motion IA runs on your own Claude account (or your own Anthropic API key). What you ask Motion IA is processed by Anthropic, under your terms with Anthropic. Usage counts against your Claude plan or is billed by Anthropic on your key: we charge nothing and do not receive these exchanges.
- ElevenLabs voice-overs and AI sounds are only available if you add your own ElevenLabs key. They are subject to ElevenLabs' terms.
- Free voices use the Voicebox app, which you install yourself alongside Motion Studio, under its own terms.
- We don't control these services. We are not responsible for their availability, changes, prices or terms.
5. Your content and your videos
- Your videos belong to you. We claim no rights over what you create, and we have no access to your project files.
- You must have the right to use everything you import (videos, images, sounds, music, logos, faces, voices). This also applies to videos you provide as a reference or "inspiration": reproducing someone else's video, brand, logo or character may require their permission.
- Voices: you may only create a voice from a recording with the consent of the person whose voice it is. Never use a voice to impersonate someone or deceive people.
- The templates, transitions, sounds and fonts provided in Motion Studio may be used in your videos, including for commercial purposes. You may not extract them to sell or redistribute them separately.
- You are responsible for what you publish with your videos (social media, clients, advertising).
6. AI output
Motion IA can make mistakes: a result may be incomplete, inaccurate, or resemble existing content. Always check your video before sharing it. Results are provided as is.
7. What is prohibited
You may not use Motion Studio to:
- create or share content that is illegal, violent, hateful, discriminatory, sexual content involving minors, or that harasses a person;
- create fake content presented as real in order to deceive (e.g. a fake statement by a real person, a misleading deepfake);
- infringe the rights of others (copyright, trademarks, image rights, privacy);
- bypass the app's protections, use it to attack other systems, or abuse the community services (spam, fake accounts, abusive reports).
8. The community
Publishing and using templates follow the Community rules, which are part of these terms. Each template is reviewed before being visible to everyone. We may refuse, hide or remove a template, or suspend an account, if it breaks these rules or the law, and we will tell you why. You can challenge a decision by emailing contact@webxpansion.com.
9. The app
Use of the software is governed by the App licence. Motion Studio contains third-party components subject to their own licences (see Third-party licences).
10. Availability and updates
Motion Studio evolves often. We may add, change or remove features, and the app updates automatically. We do our best to keep it working well, but we don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free. Keep a copy of your important files.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for data loss, indirect damages, or the use you make of your videos or of community content. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law grants you as a consumer, or our liability in case of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Motion Studio at any time and uninstall it. If you don't follow these terms, we may suspend or delete your community account, after notifying you except in an emergency or where required by law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. If there is a significant change, we will notify you in the app before it applies. The current version is always available in the Motion IA tab and on this website.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, please email us first at contact@webxpansion.com: we always look for an amicable solution. Failing that, if you are a consumer, you may bring the matter before the court of your place of residence or of our registered office; otherwise, the courts of Gap (France) have jurisdiction.
